Our Approach

Deciding to have therapy is the first step in achieving results. We offer you an approachable, non-judgemental and confidential service.

Our aim is to help you to achieve the change that you want, in a way that works for you.

Each session is individualised to you. We use many different techniques and do not get you to re-live painful memories over and over again. In fact, it is possible for us to help you without even knowing the details of previous negative experiences. Often we will describe our work as ‘de-hypnotising’, changing the way that you have been thinking about things in order to create positive change.

Chrissie Trow

DipCHyp, DipPerformanceCoach, HPD, NLP (MPRAC)

My adult life has been spent working with people, I trained as a learning disability nurse and have worked in social care for over 30 years. When my sister died in 2000, I became guardian and ‘mother-figure’ to my girl and boy, who are now both adults. Both have autism.  Initially, this was what led me to training as a therapist. Seeing people who most need coaching and therapy, and few people about to provide it. I’m passionate about people, and that everyone can reach their potential. I totally believe that we all have the tools we need, just sometimes we get a little stuck and need someone to guide us to get past the blocks that we put in our own way.

As a therapist, my mantra is ‘have a word with yourself’ – it may sound a little blunt, but often we are our own worst enemy. Cognitive hypnotherapy enables you to have that word – not in a judgmental way, but guided gently down a path of personal development that is tailored especially to you.

Like Chrissie, I also have over 30 years experience of working in social care and in my other role I run a successful training company Promote Training.

I’ve spent the whole of my adult life working with people and recognise that everyone is different. Because everyone is different we tailor every person’s therapy in a different way. No two people will ever get the same results and this is why a ‘one size fits all’ approach doesn’t work.

I believe in honesty and at times can be a little too honest. I strongly believe change is always possible, but there are no magic wands. My mantra in life, and not just in therapy, is “If you don’t like something, change it, and if you can’t change the situation then change the way you think about it!”

Most importantly be kind to yourself…
